The cabin in the Summer
Too hot in Texas? Too rainy in the Northwest? Southern Colorado has the best weather, cool nights and warm beautiful days.
As mentioned on the first page of this site, you can follow the steps down to the river for easy access to the beautiful sights and sounds.
This is probably our favorite thing to do during the Summer.
We also built a great picnic table behind the house close to the river, where you can go and have a picnic, relax, watch your children and friends fish, or stargaze at night.
If you are looking for a fun outing try the Great Sand Dunes National Park, also South Fork offers restaurants. In nearby Creede there is a great theatre. Our favorite "end of the day" outing is Pagosa Hot Springs in the town of Pagosa Springs.
Walk out the front door and find a ton of great things to do. Nothing beats a walk along the river. Maybe even a swim or some fly fishing. If you like to use a lure instead of a fly try the Beaver Creek Reservoir. We usually make a trip up there to do some fishing and enjoy all the natural beauty. The reservoir is stocked. Just be sure to buy a licence at the Rainbow grocery.
For the more adventurous guests, we suggest taking advantage of the Rio Grande National Forest. The edge of Rio Grande National Forest is within a short walking distance from the cabin. The Continental Divide trail is a short drive away and is always a beautiful hike. The area also has rock climbing, great mountain bike trails, fishing, and jeep trails.
SUMMER RATES AND LOW PEAK SEASON: $250.00/night
